Brazil is a country of incredible natural beauty and biodiversity, with vast stretches of Amazon rainforest, diverse ecosystems, and unique wildlife. However, this richness is threatened by habitat destruction, deforestation, and other human activities, leading to a high number of endangered species. According to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) , Brazil has over 670 endangered species, including mammals, birds, reptiles, and plants.

The Ararinha Azul, or Spix's Macaw, is native to the dry, scrubby Caatinga forests of Brazil.Unfortunately, the Ararinha Azul is critically endangered and possibly extinct in the wild due to habitat loss, trapping for the pet trade, and other factors.
