Rescuing a cat from a shelter or off the streets has many benefits to the cat, the owner, and the community. A forever home greatly increases the lifespan of the cat and provides a better quality live as she receives the love from her new family. A cat provides companionship to their owner and can also double as pest control if they’re a hunter. A feral cat left un-spayed or neutered can end up birthing several litters of kittens who go on to birth their own potentially feral litters. Once a cat is fixed and rehomed, this breaks the cycle and saves the cat from a short life on the streets. From my personal experience, rescue cats have been wonderful companions and have greatly improved my life as lifelong friends. Please consider a rescue cat when you are looking for your next pet.
By taking a chance on a kitty from a shelter/rescue, you aren’t only
doing a good deed, but giving hope to a cat that is sure to appreciate
you. If you’ve done this for your cat, I’m sure that you share a special
bond between you and your grateful feline friend. And the best part is,
your life is never the same once you let them into your home… and your
heart:)
