Otters have thicker fur than any other mammal! They have about a million hairs per square inch of their body. Because they have so much hair, they spend about two thirds of their day grooming it and making it extra fluffy.
Otters carry their little pups on their bellies, until the pups are fluffy enough to flote themselfs. How sweet is that?
Otters love rocks! They use them to open the little clams they eat, but they can also play with them! When otters find a rock they really love, they keep it with them in their armpits.
Otters normally stay in rafts. Rafts are single-sex groups of otters. Rafts normally consist of 10-100 otters, but the biggest raft that has ever been spotted consisted of over 2000 otters! Spotting that would be a dream.
Otters can eat about 11 kgs of food everyday. That's about a quarter of their full body weight! They mainly eat clams, crabs, other types of shellfish and normal small fishes.
