Jason Voorhees is a fictional character from the Friday the 13th series. He first appeared in Friday the 13th (1980) as the young son of camp-cook-turned-killer Mrs. Voorhees, then revealed at the end of the movie in a classic jump scare. Created by Victor Miller, with contributions by Ron Kurz, Sean S. Cunningham and Tom Savini, Jason was not originally intended to carry the series as the main antagonist. However his popularity was instant from the first movie, and rests amoungts the rakes of other classic horror movie antagonists. Jason is prodominatly portrayed by fan faviour Kane Hodder for a total of four movies from the impressive 12 movie strong franchise.
