continually make quality their highest priority.
This not the work of only one person in the lifecycle of a coffeebean; specialty can only occur when all of
those involved in the coffee value chain work in harmony and maintain a keen
focus on standards and excellence from start to finish.
This is no easy accomplishment, and yet because of these dedicated professionals, there are numerous specialty
coffees available right now, across the globe, and likely right
around the corner from you.
Specialty coffee are special not only attributed to the quality and good flavours but the transparency of the entire crop to cup chain, with the involvement of hundreds of passionate coffee professional along the way who wants to do things right. That's why the coffee community is so important when we are talking about specialty coffee. The coffee farmer, green coffee buyer, roaster, barista, and the consumer, are the ones who make specialty coffee special.
There are over 120 species of Coffea, which is grown from seed. The two most popular are Coffea arabica (commonly known simply as "Arabica"), which accounts for 60–80% of the world's coffee production, and Coffea canephora (known as "Robusta"), which accounts for about 20–40%. More info
