History of Braids

French, Dutch, Fishtail, cornrows - there are countless braiding styles to choose from!

Braids have been used across many cultures throughout human history, both as a status symbol and to communicate information about the wearer.

The oldest known reproduction of hair braiding may go back about 30,000 years : the Venus of Willendorf, a female figurine estimated to have been made between about 28,000 and 25,000 BC in modern day Austria.
