Growing up flan was on every dessert table of almost every family function I ever went to. The thought of it brings back fond childhood memories and so I make it a point to always have one on my dessert table. I have been able to pass on my love of flan to my own kids and hope one day they will do the same. Now, flan can be made many ways and depending on the season or my mood, I will change the recipe I use. Below is my simplest recipe. I hope you enjoy making flan as much as I do!
Preheat your oven to 350F. First I like to beat my eggs until smooth. Add the condensed milk while continuing to mix. Then add the regular milk and mix. Lastly, add the vanilla extract. Place your mixture aside and add the caramel to coat the bottom of a bundt pan. Then add your mixture to the bundt pan. Place your bundt pan in a roasting pan. Add water to roasting pan until it is about halfway up the sides of the bundt pan. Place roasting pan in the oven and bake approximately 1 hour. Flan is ready once a toothpick is inserted in the middle of the flan and comes out clean. Let cool and place in the refrigerator for a few hours before serving. Enjoy!🤤
