THE PORTFOLIO
Liddy is my daughter, she is an imaginative, creative and curious child
with a great passion for art. Liddy loves creating and coming up with
exciting ideas - so much that she clears one sketchbook a month on
average.
For the past 6 years, I have saved every sketch, painting and craft -
and due to this heavy production I have now run out of physical space to
store all her precious gifts. So I thought, why not create a space to
save and showcase her talent, plus make it accessible to friends and
family?
This is my gift to her, a celebration to her craft and talent, in
combination with my newfound love for coding. My ambition is to see this
space change and improve the more I learn, and the more Liddy creates.
THE PROJECT
Two years ago, I started my career in the fintech industry and a great
perk about my job is the interaction I have with our developers, a group
of fun, talented and inspiring individuals who all share this passion
for coding and developing products. It's through their stories,
experiences and enthusiasm that I learnt the importance of coding in
everyday life, and I felt motivated to embark on a new chapter in my
life by learning how to code.
This project is part of
SheCodes, which
offers coding workshops for women. SheCodes mission is to teach women
how to code to work towards decreasing the gender gap in the tech
industry. Tech is such an exciting environment to work, thrive and grow
in, so I truly share SheCodes vision in motivating more women to pursue
a career in this field.
This site is built using HTML, CSS & Javascript - all covered in the
SheCodes Basics Workshop. SheCodes Basics has been an insightful and
joyful learning experience and one of my highlights this year. I wrap
this course feeling more motivated than ever to learn more, code more,
create more.
