What is Archaeology?
Archaeology is the study of Human activity by recovery and analysis of material culture, such as
pottery and other artefacts. Archaeology is everywhere, if there has been a human presence at any
point over time, there is likely to be Archaeology. Archaeologists work hard to gather evidence
from the ground and try to piece together our past.
There are several different aspects of Archaeology which rely on the work of specialists, including
but not limited to: Excavation, Scientific Dating, Conservation,
Archives, Environmental Archaeology.
