Born in 1989 in New Orleans, Cleo Wade's poetry centers around
inspiration, affirmations, activism, and female empowerment. She has been named "the poet of the generation"
As a political and community activist, Cleo Wade keeps serving on the boards of
the Women's Prison Association, Lower East Side Girls Club (LESGC), and
the National Black Theatre in Harlem.
She continues to urge Americans to increase their socio-political
engagement, and to empower particularly girls and women from underserved
communities through her poetry, art and active community work.
