Here are some cool facts about making your own beer:
When you make the mash (the part where you poor hot water on grain to
extract the sugars that will become alcohol) it makes your enitre
house small amazing. Kinda like a bakery, all that warm grain...mmm!
You can measure the alcohol content of your beer by taking a gravity
reading before and after the fermentation. The density of the liquid
will change as the sugars are broken down into alcohol.
Adding grain that has been heavily roasted (also known as chocolate of
coffee malt) can give your beer a lovely dark colour and smooth mouth
feel.
