Tips for Hiking in the Fall/Winter

  1. Wear layers to be able to cool off after building up a sweat hiking the trail! Once you arrive at the lake and cool off, you may want to be able to warm up again with a hat and gloves.
  2. There is still bear activity during the fall months so it is a good idea to have bear spray available during your hike. Bear spray can be rented from the Kalispell airport which is only about a 20 minute drive from Whitefish, Montana.
  3. Wear hiking boots to stay steady and avoid any falls on the icy trail.
