My Yoga Journey

I started practising yoga 5 years ago as a means to distract myself from the emotional pain I was feeling at the time. I had two goals - one was to create a new routine in my life, and the other was to be able to plant my heels onto the mat in downward dog.

I did not expect to meet amazing teachers who supported, inspired and encouraged me throughout my yoga journey. Over the years, I have been able to uncover inner and physical strength I didn’t even know I had or could have. I have also come to appreciate the practice of leaning into discomfort and fear.

I love practising yoga is because you get to experience multiple practices within each practice, such as, self-compassion, patience, and the art of surrendering.

About Me

Hi! My name is Carmen and I currently live in Singapore!

I didn't really know what to expect from SheCodes Basic, but this workshop has made learning HTML, CSS and Javascript incredibly easy and fun.

This whole experience actually reminds me of the time I spontaneously signed up for my first yoga class in Perth. I walked in fearing the worst, and walked out feeling hopeful and renewed.

I'm excited to see where my new skills take me and would be happy to share my SheCodes experience with others!
