Ultimate is a non-contact team sport played with a flying disc or frisbee. It was first developed by a group of students at Columbia High School, New Jersey, in 1968. The sport resembles multiple other athletic games, however, is unique in its focus on self-refereeing, even at the highest levels of competition. The aim of the game is to pass the disc to other players on the team, towards the endzone. The defensive team focuses on intercepting and preventing the offensive team from scoring.
