Carry a reusable cup π₯βοΈπ₯€
You might prefer having one cup that does it all, or maybe you want a
bottle for water and separate hot and cold containers. Just anticipate
your needs and bring them with you. Promise yourself you won't
prioritize convenience over the planet and don't turn back.
Change how you shop for groceries πππ₯
Bring reusable bags (ones for produce too!), shop locally at a
farmer's market, eat less meat, and don't buy more than you can eat.
Change how you shop for clothing π§₯ππ§¦
Fast fashion is not only harmful to the environment, it is inhumane to
the workers who make the clothes. Buy high quality garments that will
hold up over time. Spend more on timeless purchases rather than
continually spending on clothes that will only last a season. If you
have a shopping urge, try shopping second hand!
Walk, bike, or use public transportation πΆπ½ββοΈπ²π
If you can't completely change how you commute, think about what you
can do. If it is within a mile from your home, can you walk? Can you
carpool more often?
Reduce, reuse, recycle πβ»οΈπ
If you have to buy single-use products, make sure you are recycling
what you can. Recyling plastics can be especially tricky. You'll need
to do two things: Research what plastics your local recycling program
will accept (this is why plastics have a number on them!) and always
clean out what you are recycling.
