I have been told by so many people how they (for the life of them) want to be a
plant person, but simply cannot keep a plant alive. I myself never thought I could be a
plant person either, but I would like to share with you a few trick I learned to being
successfull in not murdering plants.
Get in the habbit of sticking your fingers in a bunch of dirt!
The most common way people kill their plants is by overwatering or underwatering. Getting your hands
a bit messy is the easiest way to tell if your plant is thirsty or drowning.
Purchase plants that are hard to kill!
There are plenty of plants out there that are low maintenance.
That is usually a good place to start. They will still need food and sunlight, but will
live, even with some neglect.
👉 Here is a list of some good starter plants.
Choose the right pot!
Make sure the pot is not too big or small and has proper drainage holes. Plants will thrive
when given the adequate amount of spacing.
Get the right lighting for your plant
Not all plants are created equal. Some thrive in the sun
while others like to creep in the shadows. Get to know your plant and what makes
them happy.
Get comfortable with using fertilizers
I never understood the power of a food fertilizer until I started seeing my
plants flaurish. Just like us, they need a good multivitamin to give them all the extra
stuff they may not be recieving from just from sun and water alone.
