A beach is a landform alongside a body of water which consists of loose
particles. The composition of the sand varies depending on the local
minerals and geology. On tropical islands, the white sand is composed of
calcium carbonate from the shells and skeletons of marine organisms,
like corals and mollusks, as found in Aruba.
