Big industries are the main cause for the
steady demise of our planet. The fashion industry takes an immense part
in this scheme. Countless garments are produced and thrown away on a
daily basis wasting valuable resources and the energy of hardworking
labourers all over the world. Most of these garments are either of poor
quality, faulty in production or simply redundant in quantity. The term
for this is generally known as
Fast Fashion.
The actual demand for clothing is so
saturated that the abundance of unwanted clothes is piling up on
landfills in 3rd world countries. The fashion that nobody wants or needs
is suffocating poor people who cannot even phathom the insane machinery
of 1st world consumerism.
Appreciating fashion is by no means a bad
thing. Clothing is a basic need of every human being and everyone
deserves to wear clothes that make them feel comfortable and suit them.
Fashion is also an essential asset in most cultures and certainly a form
of art that is easily approachable due to its omnipresence.
It has become
inevitable to face the problems that this
inflated industry causes and bring a halt to the greed of big companies,
the wasting of resources and the disappointment of consumers. If you as
a consumer are interested in learning what you can do to improve this
situation, I gladly invite you to
