Sweet granadilla, also known as passiflora ligularis grows mainly in Peru but also as north as Mexico and south as northern Argentina. It grows in tropical climates ranging from 59°F to 64°F. The plant consists of abundant leaves and greenish-white flowers. The fruit consists a orange-yellow shell on the oustide and dark seeds surrounded by transluscent, gelatinous pulp on the inside. The fruit is fragrant and has a soft sweet taste.
