A sponge cake with a twist
Bolinhol is a variety of sponge cake from Vizela (a small town in northern Portugal), rectangular in shape and covered with sugar syrup. The main ingredients being eggs, sugar and flour, bolinhol is available all year round, but it tastes better during holidays and is accompanied by port wine.
