I study biointerfaces

Biointerfaces: Where material meets biology

The study of biointerfaces enconpasses the interfaces between a biological system and their surroundings. In Materials Science, biointerfaces between artificial materials and biological environments are important for medical applications. Could you imagine what happens at the bacteria/cell interface? Or at the water/pill interface?

I explore molecular processes at biointerfaces using surface scanning techniques and through this I aim to contribute to the development of materials for biosensors, drug-delivery systems, biomaterials for medical implants, etc.
