Carlos Drummond de Andrade

One of the Greatest Brazillian Poets

Carlos Drummond de Andrade is a Brazillian writer born in the state of Minas Gerais in 1902 and passed away in 1987. Despite having received a Pharmacy degree in 1925, that same year he founded a literary journal called "A Revista" and published five years later his first poetry collection and followed a literary career through his life.

Drummond is considered part of the Brazillian literary movement, and has written both poetry and prose. Very prolific, he wrote over 12 poetry collections through his life, managing to comment both on relevant political events of his time, as well as mundane events with a sharp sensitivity.

My personal favourite poems of his are: A morte do leiteiro (the milkman's death) and O Caso do Vestido (The dress affair)
