Sloths are misunderstood creatures. These animals are depicted as lazy
and slow as the world passes by them but that's not true; they are
survivalists!
As other animals and even humans consider time a more and more valuable
commodity, we put pressure on ourselves and on our environment to make
the most of it. We multitask, we hustle and eventually we burn out.
Sloths however conserve their energy. They take their time. They protect
themselves through their slow nature, taking their time with every
aspect of their lives therefore protecting their lives, their bodies and
life around them. So, why can't we? Why do we need to be the fastest,
the most efficient, the most extravagant? Life needs to be cherished and
revelled in not sped by and forgotten the next week. And this is where
we could learn something from sloths.
These animals need to be protected because if not, who else will remind
us to take a second and enjoy life as it is: jarring, hectic, and worth
enjoying every damn second.
