From endless sandy beaches, to the bustle of Stone Town,
Zanzibar, also known as The Spice Island, is
an Indian Ocean haven. It is one of my favourite places in the world. It
has a rich history and culture, beautiful beaches, amazing sea life to
explore on a dive or even snorkelling, lots of activities and tasty
food.
There are great places to stay almost everywhere around
Zanzibar’s coast.
Most travellers visit
Zanzibar to simply relax on a beautiful white beach.
However, there are lots of underwater activities for those who are so
inclined. Diving and snorkelling is an unforgettable experience. You can
swim amongst a colourful array of fish and marine life, marvelling at
the exotic world beneath Zanzibar's turquoise shores.
Zanzibar also offers fantastic parasailing and
kitesurfing, as well as many other water sports.
Zanzibar, with its strategic location off the coast of East Africa, has long
been a melting pot. Arab traders from the Middle East, Portuguese
invasions, immigrants of India, etc. The result is a truly unique
mixture of marvelous cuisines. The spices from Middle Easter and Indian
cooking, paired with the wonderful natural ingredients and seafood from
the island, makes Zanzibar food so delicious.
