Due to the pandemic, our traveling plans have all been put on hold. What if I told you we can still visit wonderful, jaw-dropping places from all across the world, without leaving our bed ! From South America with its white sand beaches and colorful tropical forests to the large continent of Asia filled with diverse wildlife ! Here, we'll travel to see a few beautiful places, filled with history and culture.

Hilo, Hawai'i

Rainbow Falls is an awe-inspiring waterfall, nearly 100 feet in diameter, located in Hilo cascades 80 feet over a lava cave, This is home to the Hawaiian moon goddess, Hina. According to legends, Hina dwells in the lava cave behind the waterfall. In the early morning, a rainbow is often seen and is known as Waiānuenue in Hawaiian language, translating to rainbow (seen in) water.

Chichén Itzá, Mexico

A Mayan ruin located in the Yucatan Peninsula and is one of the New 7 Wonders of the World. In the Mayan language, Chichen Itza means at the mouth of the well of the Itza. It was built by the Mayans, an indigenous group of Mexico and Central America and is over 1,500 years old ! It was once a populous city in Yucatan Peninsula filled many structures, like the Great Ball Court.

Marble Caves, Chile

Marble Caves (Capillas de Mármo) is a series of caves located in the General Carrera Lake in Patagonia, Chile - the Cathedral, the Chapel, and the Cave. This 6,000 year old cave was formed by the crashing waves of Lake General Carrera against calcium carbonate. The cavern walls filled with smooth, swirling blue are actually a refletion of the lake's enchanting turquoise water.

Iguazu Falls, Brazil/Argentina

Iguazú Falls consists of 275 waterfalls in Iguaza River, located on the border of Brazil and Argentina. Its name originated from the Tupi or Guarani language, meaning big water. The Iguazú Falls stretch 1.7 miles in width and varies between 200 to 269 feet tall - making it taller and 2x wider than Niagara Falls ! The surrounding rainforest is home to over 2,000 species of plants and diverse wildlife.

Chefchaouen, Morocco

Chefchaouen, the Blue Pearl of Morocco, sits in the Rif Mountains. This blue city in Northern Morocco is the perfect opportunity to take a break from all the busy cities; instead wander and browse through the markets. This blue city was founded in 1471 as a fortress against the Portugeuse. There are many theories as to why the city was painted blue, such as to symbolize the sky and heaven.

Sossusvlei, Namibia

Sossusvlei is a large, white salt and clay pan surrounded by red dunes, reaching almost 400 meters. Located in the Namib-Naukluft National Park, Sossusvlei translates to dead-end marsh. Due to the harsh desert conditons, the dunes prevent the Tsauchbab River to flow any further. Its large, red sand dunes are the tallest in the world - Big Daddy is about 325 meters tall. Climbing or hot air ballooning over the area sounds like an absolute dream !

Amalfi Coast, Italy

Amalfi Coast stretches 34 miles along the southern side of Italy's Sorrentine Peninsula. This coastline has mountains that plunge into the sea, overlooked by hilltop pastel towns. Here, there are sandy beaches with crystalline warm waters to go on a swim and horseback ride up by the hills. With beautiful lemon groves and gardens, fill up on heavenly lemon desserts and freshly made Italian food !

Keukenhof, Netherlands

Keukenhof also called Garden of Europe, is one of the largest flower garden in the world - with more than 7 million flower bulbs are planted ! Over 79 acres, you'll find a variety of flowers including tulips, hyacinths, daffodils, orchids, roses, carnations, irises, lilies, and many more ! Its name translates to kitchen courtyard. The flower layout and paths creates a mosaic on the ground, along with the sweet fragance smell from the flowers !

Mount Fuji, Japan

Mount Fuji (富士山, Fujisan) is the tallest mountain in Japan - 12,380 feet tall ! It is classified as an active volcano, last erupting in 1707. On clear days, it can be seen from Tokyo. It is considered a sacred symbol of Japan and a sacred site for Shinto practicers for centuries. Shrines have been built for Princess Konohanasakuya-hime, the goddess of Mount Fuji and all volcanoes in Japanese mythology, whose symbol is the cherry blossoms; it is believed she will prevent Mount Fuji from eurpting.

Hạ Long Bay, Vietnam

Ha Long Bay is located in the Gulf of Tonkin, including over 1600 islands and islets. Ha Long means Bay of the Descending Dragon in honor of the Mother Dragon and her children who helped defend the Vietnamese against Northern intruders - also expanding Vietnam and creating the islands seen today. There are over 200 species of fish and over 450 species of mollusk in the waters of the bay !

South Island, New Zealand

South Island, also known as Te Waipounamu in Māori (the Water(s) of Greenstone), is the larger and southernmost of the two main islands of New Zealand. From turquoise lake, fjord, and glaciers to snow-capped mountains that are over 1,500 meters high ! In fact, it's shaped by the Southern Alps that run 500 km northeast to southest and 3,724 meters high. Here, you'll have the best vantage point to see the breath-taking Southern Lights !

Monuriki, Fiji

Monuriki Island is considered one of the world's most beautiful islands. It's located just off the main island of Fiji and is part of the Atolls islands. It is volcanic in nature and its highest peak reaches 178 meters tall. It measures 1 km in length and 600 meters wide. The coasts of the island is surrounded by coral reefs and volcanic rock cliffs. The island is home to iguanas and is a nesting place for sea turtles !
