Pão de queijo is the classic Brazilian cheese bread, may refer to a variety of small, baked, cheese-flavored rolls, a popular snack and breakfast food. It is considered the most representative recipe of Minas Gerais.

Where it is popular it`s inexpensive and often sold from street vendors, bakeries, in snack shops, and in grocery stores.

Despite being referred to as "bread", the cheese bread is basically a type of starch tart cookie with soft and elastic consistency.

The main ingredients are cassava and or corn flour, cheese, eggs and milk. All gluten free!! That's why the original cheese bread recipe is suitable for celiacs.
