About the Maltese Breed

Maltese dogs are apart of the Toy Group, ranging from 6-8 pounds, and considered one of the most ancient toy breeds.
Historians have been unable to trace the Maltese's exact place of origin. Many believe the breed developed in the Island of Malta,
hence the name Maltese. Other historians, have attributed the dogs origin to Italy or parts of Asia.

Known for their floor-length coat, the Maltese dogs are very playful and make the perfect pet.

Meet my Maltese

I rescued my dog, Edgar, 7 years ago at the Newington Humane Society in Newington, CT.
Edgar is a Maltese and Bichon mix. He is 11 years old and full of energy.
Edgar enjoys long car rides, trips to the park and eating chicken nuggets.
