The cool cats found in the Scottish Highlands

Originally a British population, now the cats reside solely in the Scottish Highlands. With the Latin name 'Felis silvestris silvestris', the cats reside in mixed woodlands. However, they are facing the threat of extinction, with around 1000-4000 cats remaining, and only 400 being classified as meeting the genetic criterium. The main reasoning for their critically endangered status is as a result of breeding with domestic cats.
