I Love Ramen

Tonkotsu is my favorite!

Ramen ,or "pulled noodles", is a Japanese dish usually consisting of wheat noodles and a rich broth accompanied with various delicious toppings. Altough Ramen is a Japanese staple, it actually originated in China and was introduced to Japan in 1859. Ramen are typically named by the broth base. For example Shoyu(soy sauce) is a clear brown broth flavored with soy sauce and is the most common type of ramen served. Shio(salt) is a clear broth seasoned with salt, typically made from chicken broth. Miso(soybean paste) is flavored with soybean paste, creating a thick brown soup with complex flavors. Lastly Tonkotsu(pork bone) is ramen made of pork bones boiled down and dissolved to make a cloudy white broth.
