The Gin Basil Smash is a cocktail of basil, lemon
juice, gin and sugar syrup. Simple ingredients, simple preparation,
simple idea: good gin, fresh vegetables, a little sugar. Tasty, ready,
punches. What makes this drink so exciting - at least for theorists,
barflys and cocktail artists - is its age: it was only invented in 2008.
At a time when some already thought that all "simple" cocktails had
existed for at least 50 years. -
