Pollinators Need Our Help!

Below is more info on their importance, and what you can do.

Bee

Background

Pollinators include mainly bees, butterflies, bats, and other insects or small mammals. According to Pollinator Partnership, around 75%-95% of all flowering plants need pollinators to assist them in pollination. Pollinators provide their services to over 180,000 different plant species; including popular fruits, vegetables and nuts.

Unfortunately, many pollinator species are declining due to habitat loss, pollution, pesticides, herbicides and climate change. But by providing some pollinator friendly space, you can really help make a difference!

How You Can Help

Plant pollinator-friendly flowers that are not sprayed with pesticides, and providing a "bee bath" is easy to do, and makes a world of difference for these animals.

Here you can get a personalized pollinator planting guide best suited for your geographic location.

To make a "bee bath," like the image below shows, a simple dish with some marbles and shallow water allow for pollinators to stop by for a drink.
