Like My Grandmother Did

A journey to more sustainable living

My late Finnish grandmother was a farmer. She made things, she mended things, she grew things, and she bought things that weren’t just meant to last for a season but for decades. In 2020, in the hubub of London, I made the decision to live more sustainably, and suddenly I began to do what my grandmother had always done. I make, I mend, I grow, and I try to avoid buying single-use. Not only does it help me reduce my environmental footprint, but it has made me feel closer to my roots again.

Like My Grandmother Did (LMGD) is my ongoing journey to learn all the things I wish my grandmother was here to teach me (and make lots of mistakes on the way). Do come along!
