Pizza
is a savory dish of Italian origin consisting of a usually round, flattened base
of leavened wheat-based dough topped with tomatoes, cheese, and often various
other ingredients, which is then baked at a high temperature, traditionally in a
wood-fired oven.
Side Note: Sometimes a small
Pizza is called a Pizzetta.
Pepperoni
is an American variety of salami, made from cured pork and beef seasoned with
paprika or other chili pepper. Pepperoni is characteristically soft, slightly
smoky, and bright red in color. Thinly sliced pepperoni is a popular pizza
topping in American pizzerias.
