Salsa is flavour and spice. Salsa is latin soul. Salsa is rhythm.
Salsa came to life in 1960s in New York City combining
a blend of different influences, rhythms and styles of Latin music. The
term means sauce in spanish and represents the juicy mixes of son
cubano, guaguanco, montuno, cha cha cha, mambo and other jazz elements.
Prior to that time, each style was recognized in its pure original form
and name.
Its origins can be traced back to other lands and earlier parts of
our history. Basic components of Salsa have been brought together by
countless immigrants who came into Latin America searching better life
or being brought there against their will (African slaves).
There are many different pratices but they all have in common 3
ingredients:
Fun, Energy and Flavor!
