This was my second time on a long-distance backpacking trip. I met a couple friends on my last trip to Marriott Basin and then we decided to hit the trails to Garibaldi Lake. The Garibaldi Lake Trail is in a very good condition and well-maintained, which makes this trail really pretty in every season.
The first 6km of the trail is a gradual uphill climb through dense forests of Douglas Fir trees. Shortly after the 6km mark, you reach a junction with a map of the surrounding area. Going right takes you directly to Garibaldi Lake whereas going left takes you up through Taylor Meadows.
We took the right route and set our tent at Garibaldi Lake campground. It was such a tranquil night the first day. We took a stroll around the lake and found a nice spot to cook our dinner. After dinner, we were back to our own tent and hit the sack early.
After having a power breakfast to start off our day, we headed to Panorama Ridge junction. Following the route to the right of the junction, the climb becomes steeper and steeper as we continued. In the last few kilometers, the terrain became all rocks. We scrambled up the rocky slopes and evenntually we reached our destination. It rewarded the efforts with such a breathtaking view on the top.
