Foxes are predators that live on almost every continent in the world. They can be found in forests, grasslands, in the mountains, in the desert and on coasts. Best known is the red fox which you can see in the picture above. But there are a total of 40 different types!
Foxes belong to the species of dogs. But sometimes they also have something cat-like, for example when their eyes narrow or when they play with their prey. In addition, they are loners and don't live in packs.
Foxes are omnivores. They eat small animals like mice, squirrels, hedgehogs, geese, fish, frogs and earthworms. However, they do not only eat meat, but also fruits and berries.
