NATURE

Nature is all the animals, plants, and other things in the world that are not made by people, and all the events and processes that are not caused by people.

My CameraI go to nature to be soothed and healed, and to have my senses put in order. - John Burroughs

There is nothing more relaxing to me than grabbing my beloved camera and setting off on a walk through a local park or hiking trail to enjoy and absorb the beauty and calming essence of nature undisturbed.

To me a lush carpet of pine needles or spongy grass is more welcome than the most luxurious Persian rug. —Helen Keller

Each step I take and every sight that delights my senses, relieves a bit more of my stress and dissolves pent-up anxiety that prevents me from relaxing in other settings. It amazes me how so few people realize you don’t need pills and prescriptions to calm down, relax and center yourself.

With my camera, I attempt to capture the essence of nature by photographing things in their natural, and sometimes deteriorated, state. I enjoy capturing images of vibrant, colorful flowers and foilage, but not everything I photograph is perfect or picturesque. I also find beauty in leaves that are brown instead of green, trees that show signs of rot of decay, etc. It is the Circle of Life that every living thing must traverse, and there is elegance and beauty in each aspect of it.

These are the facets of nature that intrigue me; they are what I am drawn to – what I love to photograph. I sincerely hope you find at least a bit of joy, beauty and contentment while looking at nature thru my lens!
