♥︎ BEE POSITIVE ♥︎

Positivity means thinking in an optimistic way, believing in your abilities and anticipating success, looking for solutions rather than dwelling only on the problem, and generally trying to make the most of all life’s situations.

Positive thinking is not about ignoring reality or completely suppressing negative emotions in favour of ‘good vibes only’. It is about navigating through bad situations or negative feelings (such as anger, hurt, disappointment, pain or loss) by acknowledging that they are unfortunately occasionally unavoidable, but finding ways to improve the situation and make yourself feel better. It is recognising that struggle and pain are not all that’s there, even if they’re all we can see in a certain moment. It is seeing the good in people, even if we sometimes have to really search for it.

Bee-ing positive is not about projecting a 'perfect' life; it’s about choosing to see the majority, overall good in our often flawed lifes and maintaining hope that no matter how bad things are, they always have the possibility to improve.

Bee-ing positive is not always easy. For many of us, this last year in particular has been a time of unprecedented struggle and upheaval. We are living in times of big changes and are bombarded daily with bad news stories; it is easy to get caught up in the wave of negativity the media showcases.

While there’s no way to avoid sorrow, adversity, or distress in life, there are ways to introduce more positivity into our life to balance the negativity. Here are some tips:

Tip Two: Reflect & Re-frame

Write in a Journal.
Buy a Journal
Journaling helps improve your mood and general outlook by :
  • Providing an opportunity for positive self-talk you may otherwise never vocalise
  • Recording moments of joy and happiness which you can re-read during times when you feel overwhelmed with negativity
  • Helping you prioritize problems, fears, and concerns
  • Tracking any day-to-day negative thoughts and feelings you may not even realise you have been experiencing, so that you can recognize triggers and learn ways to better control them
When you have a problem and you're stressed, keeping a journal can help you identify what’s causing that stress or anxiety. Once you’ve identified your stressors, you can work on a plan to resolve the problems and reduce your stress.
Use a Journaling App.

Tip Three: Have a positive impact on others.

Bee-ing Helpful

When you’re in the midst of a crisis, it’s common to feel powerless and helpless.
By proactively helping others, you can regain a sense of control as well as find purpose in your life.

In fact, giving support can be just as beneficial as receiving support. If we build positive relationships and motivate other people, we feel good about ourselves, which builds confidence and leads to a positive perspective. Not to mention, it makes other people feel like the unique, special beings they are. Talk about a win-win!
