The Giraffe

The majestically awkward giants of Africa

The giraffe is currently the largest living land mammal. Its distinguishing characteristic are a long neck at around six feet long, and fur patterned with dark geometric spots on a light background. Unfortunately, these majestic beasts are often hunted illegally, and their habitats overtaken for agricultural or urban human settlement, bringing these beautiful creatures closer to the dangers of extinction.
