VINTAGE CARAVANS

An optimist's dream!

I love old things. The potential in these dishevelled homes on wheels has always been more exciting to me than seeing the 'after' photos. Recently I became the proud owner of a 50 year old Franklin caravan, which I'm going to be turning into a winter home using a bit of interior cosmetic surgery!

Here are some of the things I've learnt so far:


• It will always feel a little bit wobbly.
• Vintage window parts are expensive!
• It will leak, but you won't know where until it's already raining...
• There will always be something that needs fixing.
• You won't care about all the faults because your caravan makes you smile every time you see it!
