The swedish capital Stockholm comprises 14 islands of a large archipelago in the Baltic Sea, connected by more than 50 bridges. Among the cobblestone streets and ochre-colored buildings of Gamla Stan (Old Town) are the 13th-century Church of St. Nicholas, the Royal Palace, and the Nobel Museum, with numerous exhibits related to the Nobel Prize. Ferries and excursion boats take passengers to more distant islands.
