Itten's colour wheel is a simple and visually pleasant tool invented by Swiss painter and designer Johannes Itten.
It is one of the many colour wheels put forward in the 19th and early 20th century.

How does it work?
Itten's colour wheel is rather straightforward:
◻ inside the triangle there are the three primary colours
◻ inside the hexagon there are secondary colours (a mix of two primary)
◻ inside circle there are tertiary colours
In the circle, colours adjacent to one another are harmonic; those opposite one another are contrasting.
