Plastic is a pleg but our modern societies are addicted to this material. Unlike organic waste, plastic can take hundreds to thousands of years to decompose in nature. Plastic waste is causing respiratory issues when burned, shortening animal lifespans when consumed, and contaminating water when dumped into canals and oceans. In oceans, plastic is accumulating in swirling gyres that are miles wide. Under ultraviolet light from the sun, plastic is degrading into “microplastics” that are almost impossible to recover and that are disrupting food chains and degrading natural habitats. Nowadays, fishs eat microplastics, so human too, human eats a credit card’s worth of plastic a week! We (as a humand kind) need to find solutions and invest money to stop producing more plastics and also to clean up the mess we have done on earth.

First forget about the fish cans and ultra-processed fish food products. Usually the low cost of your tuna means exploitation of the seas and ocean pollution with the fish nets. If you can buy local fishs from small fisher men. You can also support associations that are currently cleaning the sea for us such as Plastic Tides or Ocean CleanUp Another good idea is to reduce your plastic consumtion, indeed if you do so less will go into the ocean. As a consumer, you have the power to allocate your money to sustainable initatives. Fast fashion, cosmetics, food, furniture... take a step back and think about it. Mabye you can buy less but better for you, your family, the workers and the planet! (second hand furniture, organic food, local fishes, car sharing...)
