Torres del Paine National Park is one of the world's favourite
destinations. Amont its main atractions is the W toure, one of the most
famous trekking circuits in the world.
Where are the Torres del Paine?
There are three ways to get to Torres del Paine:
By air ✈️:
The Santiago-Punta Arenas flight lasts around 3 hours. If you travel
from Puerto Montt-Punta Arenas it is 2 hours. You must arrive at the
Carlos Ibáñez del Campo airport, located in Punta Arenas. Then you
move from Puerto Natales to Torres del Paine, from there there are 100
kilometers to the park, depending on the chosen route.
Land route 🚗:
The distance from Santiago is 3,115 kilometers since you must pass
through Argentine territory. In Puerto Montt you can take a bus that
crosses to Argentina through the Puyehue Pass, this will take you
about a day to enter through Puerto Natales or Punta Arenas, depending
on your chosen route.
By sea🛳:
The journey goes from Puerto Montt to Puerto Natales and lasts almost
3 days.
What to do in Torres del Paine?
There are different ways to get to know Torres del Paine National Park.
Here we tell you some of the most outstanding attractions and ways to
enjoy this wonder of Chile according to the time you have:
Full day:
A "full day" visit consists of visiting the most accessible
attractions of the park for the day. It is advisable to leave as early
as possible, that is, 5:30 am, until 10:30 pm. This tour normally
includes a visit to the Milodon Cave Natural Monument and a visit to
Lake Nordenskjöld, Salto Grande, Lake Pehoé, Paine River and Gray
Lake.
Viewpoints:
There are some short and low difficulty trails where you can have
incredible views to take the best pictures of the place. The best
known viewpoints are Sierra del Toro, Cóndor, Ferrier and Los Cuernos,
among others.
Hiking:
If you like hiking, this is for you because you can do the trail to
Mirador Cuernos; trails surrounding Salto Grande and Salto Chico;
circuits to the Island and Chorrillo de Salmones.
Mountain hiking:
For the more sporty or adventurous there are the Macizo Paine circuit
and; the W.
Other sports activities:
You can also do kayaking, sport climbing and even horseback riding (it
is only allowed to ride using the services of companies authorized by
CONAF and on authorized trails).
