Promising Young Woman Poster

Plot: A young woman, traumatized by a tragic event in her past, seeks out vengeance against those who crossed her path.
Starring: Carey Mulligan, Bo Burnham, Alison Brie
Review: The plot was a great story and Carey Mulligan was a great choice for the lead. I thought it was a great revenge thriller that really allows for viewer conversation rather than just a sit and watch type of film.

One Night In Miami...

One Night In Miami...

Plot: A fictional account of one incredible night where icons Muhammad Ali, Malcolm X, Sam Cooke, and Jim Brown gathered discussing their roles in the Civil Rights Movement and cultural upheaval of the 60s.
Starring: Kingsley Ben-Adir, Eli Goree, Aldis Hodge, Leslie Odom Jr.
Review: Regina King (director) did a really phenomenal job of taking the play and bringing it to the big screen. What a great story of four heavy-weights in their own right come together to discuss what they want for their communities. It really is an impassioned interrogation not only of the period, as embodied by this one specific night, but also of the ongoing quest for racial equality in the US now.
