Who is BTS?
Meet the world's biggest musical group.
BTS is a seven member band from South Korea. Since their official debut
in 2013, BTS has become one of the leading public figures for South
Korea in the world, and one of the most successful music artists of all
time. BTS is made up of three rappers and four singers, though they do
switch roles occasionally: RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jung
Kook.
The group was formed beginning in 2010 by BigHit
Entertainment as a hip hop group before expanding their musical
boundaries and exploring more styles and genres. Their fans are called
ARMY: Adorable Representative MCs for Youth.
In 2022, BTS announced they would go on hiatus to complete mandatory
military service. The announcement put to rest years-long rumors that
they would ask for exemption. They reunited in 2025 and recently
released “Arirang”, their first group project since “Proof” in 2022.
