One imperfect Xianbing at a Time

Grandma started it, Mom continued it, I eat it

Xiangbing

Xianbing (馅饼) is a Chinese pan-fried stuffed flatbread. In my family, we usually fill it with chives, shrimps, and eggs.

My grandmother used to make Xianbing for our family. When she became older and could no longer cook, my mother and I started making them ourselves. Today, preparing Xianbing together is more than just cooking. It is a way to spend time together, share stories, and keep family traditions alive.

Food has always been one of my passions - both discovering new culinary experiences as well as preserving family traditions. It brings people together around one table and creates memories that stay with us. Every time I make Xianbing, I think of my grandparents and the many meals we shared as a family.
