Kpanlogo is a Ghanaian dance form, associated with the Ga ethnic group, who are traditionally located in the Greater Accra Region, which is in the South of the country. It is now associated with urban youth, but the distinctive 3:2 Kpanlogo beat is based on older Ga rhythms which is combined apparently with other rhythms, all played on the Kpanlogo drums. Ghana's traditional dance culture is rich, diverse and globally influential. The Ghanaian government has collected valuable insights into the history, forms and functions of the dances from Professors F. Nii Yartey and J.K. Anquandah.
