At my wedding, I discoverd that the right design and fitting of details makes me happy.
When I saw the invitation and the menu fits to the glasses etc., it made me feel really good
(besides the fact, that i am going to marry the love of my life ๐). Why should we not intentionally evoke this feeling in our everyday lives?
And in fact, studies show,
that good designed products attracts more people than the pure functional version of it.
Here are the most important results of the study:
objects with good design that are both beautiful and functional trigger positive emotions such as calmness and
satisfaction. they also reduce negative emotions such as anger and resentment by almost one third.
Purely functional objects that are not beautiful increase negative emotions such as sadness and dejection by 23%.
lack of functionality slows down creativity. creative work is made more difficult by 45 %
positive moods support expression and openness to new ideas. all this makes us more creative.
the origin of the participants did not cause any major deviations in the results.
Therefore, it was not more debatable for me, to buy a golden MacBook. It makes me smile everyday when I start my work,
even when itโs not the most pleasent.
Yey!
