Monstera are a variety of plant native to Central America. Colloquially known as a "Swiss Cheese Plant", they are well-known for their perforated leaves and dark green fronds. There are many varieties of Monstera. Those which are most commonly grown as house plants are Monstera Deliciosa and Monstera Adansonii. Despite their impressive folliage, they are suprising easy to care for, requiring watering only once per week.
